About us

You will find an entirely relaxed and warm welcome at Windy Harbour. We are a family run business who enjoy the sport and want to encourage more people to try it and hopefully take it up. From your initial enquiry to the day itself you can be assured of our very best intentions.

Our friendly instructors provide full tuition and a variety of targets. Whether you are a complete beginner or consider yourself a bit of a shot, one thing you can be sure of is a very warm welcome.

Your safety is of paramount importance to us. That is why we undertake a full safety induction prior to taking you into the field. Thereafter, safety remains a prime feature of your instruction.....so you can rest assured. All our instructors are regular clay pigeon shooters. They are all licensed to handle a shotgun and to supervise others in the operation of such.

We have had a variety of groups come and experience clay pigeon shooting for the first time including companies, private parties and clubs (eg. the Landrover Owners Club). Some have even returned they enjoyed it so much.

While only a short distance away from our hotel, access to the shooting ground takes in farm tracks and some off road terrain. Not that the terrain need worry you – we transport you from the hotel to the shoot and back again … so that’s an off-roading experience thrown in as well.

By the way ladies. Don’t be put off by thinking it’s a “man thing“. We don’t discriminate against youth either. We have young ‘uns try it out too. Start them early. You never know, they might show an eye for the sport!
